My dad just got back from one year at war in Afghanistan. I know that for someone who's not part of a military family this might sound unimaginable, but for me it's part of my life. Since I'm only 12, this war and the things that come with it are the only thing I've ever known. Military life for me can be great, but there are hard parts too. Usually when it comes to the hard parts we have to shoulder our burdens alone or with the help of our small military community, so it was close to a miracle, as my mom said, that such important people as the President, First Lady, Vice President, Second Lady and all the heads of the Cabinet were deciding to help with our problems.
And then I got to go to the White House and to hear them announce that they were going to help us.Story by Sophie Roth-Douquet.
