Spouse Jobs Program to Relaunch in October

All I have to say is that this revised policy is very disappointing - especially as an active participant. This totally shatters my dreams now that it has changed. In my opinion, MYCAA should have kept active accounts already committed to the end, since some, or most, if not all, are half way to finishing up especially after waiting YEARS to get something done that was once thought impossible because of becoming a military spouse. I think there should be reconsideration of all Enlisted ranks to be covered across the board for many reasons.

I am disappointed because my husband is an E-7 and I don't qualify. I don't even have a degree yet because I was busy rasing my children.

The change have benefit some but not all and that is not right. All service member spouse should qualify and rank should not be the factor. I am a Sr. Enlisted spouse and I am disappointed because I will like to pursue my career but because of the change it hinder me from the assistance. I think it should managmeent and Sr. Leaders should re-consider and allow all ranks not matter what.

I think that it is a bummer that they changes the rules. However, I just heard about an amazing program today that I am so excited about doing. I can get my medical billing and coding/front office assistant or I can get my pharmacy tech. I don't have to pay anything, when I can apply for MyCAA in October it is going to be covered at 100%. I have three little girls and the program is all online so I can do it any time! Just wanted to share my good news any maybe help out another military spouse! I am worried that even though I have had a MyCAA account and been using it for the past year, it may not be there for me as promised. I have school registration coming up soon, and am nervous about where this will leave me. I would have made other plans if I'd known this scholarship was perhaps not going to be there! I spent the last year preparing to enter a specific program, paid all the registration fees and "hold your spot" fees (which MyCAA does not pay for)... now I'm afraid I may have to choose between going into debt to continue with my plan or dropping out and trying to figure out some kind of a Plan B.

I will post again once I get clarification from the MyCAA counselors on EXACTLY how this affects pre-existing accounts such as mine.

I called today to talk with a counselor and was basically told I was out of luck on this one. Regardless of what I was told last year when I applied for the program (you have up to 6 months after he comes off orders and you are covered until you use all of your tuition) even if m husband was on title 10 orders still, I would have been dropped from the program in 3 months time when he gets a promotion. I have been in the program for a year for veterinary technicican and now I cant even continue with fall classes becuase even the dealine for fasfa has passed. I was howeer given an email and was told to email about the issues and how things are being done. She told me that they were replying to the emails and to make my voice heard. This was from my counselor so I am passing my email on to the rest of the spouses so they too can get their word out.
