Science Fiction
Romance/relationship books
Horror
Suspense/Detective
Fantasy
Drama
For me, I love horror and sci-fi. Sometimes I can read suspense/detective books, but it has to have really good movement.
Romance and relationship novels remind me too much of soap operas. |

I use to love vampire/witch novels, mainly by Anne Rice but I've since read them all and not too fond of other writers I've read all Patricia Cornwell, and I like historic fiction like "The Historian" I'm kinda all over the place, lol But it has to be kinda fast paced & intresting |

Depends... if life is really hectic & stressed (like deployments lol) I read trashy romance because I don't have to use my brain! lol Other than that I really like James Patterson and thrillers. |

I have not read any vampire novels, but I sure did get into the whole "Angel" and "Buffy" television series.
Right now I am reading Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. Some of his books have had really frustrating endings, i.e. The Cell and The Gunslinger (the 1st book in The Dark Tower series.) However, in the reviews, people say the series is worth the read. So for now I will stick with it.

i read whatever looks interesting lol. i've read alot of different books about many different subjects. for instance, i love books by chuck palahniuk (and trust me they get very strange lol) and also by jodi picoult. for some reason i always pick up a zombie book at the library... the last one i grabbed, world war z, was actually a really good book. it's fictional and the whole book is the author interviewing people after the world has been overrun with zombies and they are the survivors... it sounds weird but it was really good. has anyone else seen the book pride and prejudice and zombies? it's a ridiculous concept but i just started it because i heard it was actually worth the read. |

I read everything under the sun! Anything from Harlequinn romance novels, to Historical fiction (check out Lauren Willig and Phillipa Gregory for those) to Sci-fi and Thrillers, I'll admit I also read the Twilight Saga and loved it, but hated the movie. I'm currently reading False Memory by Dean Koontz, Married to the Military...the book that led me here! and I'm about to start The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood...I'll read anything that's controversial and I heard this was definitely along the lines of 1984 which I loved back in high school!. |

Anchored- I LOVE Lauren Wilig, she's fabulous! Seriously, if it has a words on a page I'll read it. My favorites are goofy romance novels like Katie MacAllister's series but I just literally love to read. I read anything from romance (Katie MacAllister) to murder mysteries (Tess Gerristen) to political thrillers (David Baldacci) to relationship books (Gary Chapman) to military works (Generation Kill, What Was Asked of Us) to environmental science books (Weather Makers, Reading the Rocks) to classics (Jane Austen, of course). I used to work in a bookstore and try to pick a different section to read from when I had finished whatever book I was reading. |

"You must teach your children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of your grandfathers. So that they will respect the land, tell your children that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin. Teach your children what we have taught our children, that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves." ~Native American Wisdom

I can't handle books like Twilight that I don't think are well written. I'd much rather read something from Chuck Palunkiuk or Margaret Atwood... don't know what you would classify those as. I do enjoy fantasy novels, DH got me into those. I also enjoy really heartfelt stories like The Lovely Bones or A Thousand Splendid Suns. I think a lot of my favourites tend to have won awards and such... because I care more about the characters and how well written the book is then I really do about the plot, honestly. If I want a light read, I buy a fashion magazine. hehe |

I read a little of everything. Mostly I like contemporary fiction though. I enjoy good stories. I read everything from Ann Rand to Emily Giffin. I liked the Twilight series but I also like some provocative stuff like Middlesex and the Virgin Suicides by Jefferey Eugenides. Right now I'm reading The Secrets of a Fire King, and The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy. |

AnchoredbyAnderson, if you like Phiippa Gregory, try Jeanne Kalogridis, Margaret Campbell Barnes, and Susan Higgenbotham. Did you see Philippa has a new book out? I'm so excited! |
