Hello, ladies!

We are PCSing to San Diego January 8th. My husband will be in Camp Pendleton and he is E4. He ask me to look for apartment in that area but he doesn't know his BAH for sure. I tried to call Camp Pendleton housing office but nobody answered. Then I checked at military.com and it showed that BAH for San Diego was $1893. But when I try to get info about BAH entering different zip codes I get different BAH rates. Can you, please, help me with the BAH question.  I have to look for apartment but now I even don't know how much money for housing we will have.

Also, I have lived all over SD and only ever seen the BAH fluctuate by around $100 bucks. So really....it shouldnt make to much of a difference as long as you live within your means.

Lastly...I'd stick to using his command zip code for your refferance.

Be careful searching "San Diego" for BAH rates. San Diego's BAH rate is higher than Camp Pendleton's. I used the zip code 92055 for Camp Pendleton and 2010 BAH for E-4 w/ dependents is $1677. That's a pretty significant difference from $1893 so I just wanted to let you know. BUT I will tell you that rent in that area is cheaper so yay! Friends of ours are stationed at NS San Diego, but they chose to live in Murrieta (too far for me!) which isn't too far from Camp Pendleton I don't think?? We saw some gorgeous houses for rent there in the $1800 range... whereas we're paying over $2000 for a much smaller house in San Diego. LOL
