First off, I want to apologize for asking this question that I know has been asked 1,000 times. My soon-to-be husband is getting stationed at Dam Neck in July. He is currently stationed in Norfolk so he knows the area, but I however, don't currently live there so am not too familiar with the area. He seems to be more concerned with keeping the cost of rent low. I, however, am also very concerned with safety and living in a decent area. I want to know that if I am by myself I will feel safe. I am just wondering what areas are the best to live in. I know that he is not concerned with having a little bit of a drive (he was talking about moving to Norfolk). I also want to live someplace decent, not run down.
